“Of course,” your dad says. “My favorite is about a cannon named Wendell who is used by Robert E. Lee’s Confederate army. Wendell is a proud, loyal cannon, but he has a horrible secret: He despises slavery. From this central conflict, hundreds of pages of gripping story emerge.”
“Okay,” your dad says. “Another one I penned a while back takes place during the Battle of Gettysburg. It follow the travails of Jeremiah, a young, determined mixologist who is trying to make cocktails in a nearby bar while the most significant battle of the Civil War takes place. The gunfire and loud noises scare him, but he still keeps pushing the boundaries on what consumers expect out of a cocktail. In the end, Jeremiah is killed by a stray bullet, shot by an irresponsible hunter many years after the war ended.”
“This next one takes place in the mind of Stonewall Jackson. The main character is Percy, a blood clot who is determined to kill Stonewall Jackson, because Percy was born in Boston and supports the Union. Opposing him is Martha, Stonewall Jackson’s amygdala, who was born in Atlanta and is a scintillating and voluptuous Southern belle. The two end up falling in love—but a bullet has other plans.”

One summer, along about 1904, my father rented a camp on a lake in Maine and took us all there for the month of August. We all got ringworm from some kittens and had to rub Pond’s Extract on our arms and legs night and morning, and my father rolled over in a canoe with all his clothes on; but outside of that the vacation was a success and from then on none of us ever thought there was any place in the world like that lake in Maine. … I have since become a salt-water man, but sometimes in summer there are days when the restlessness of the tides and the fearful cold of the sea water and the incessant wind which blows across the afternoon and into the evening make me wish for the placidity of a lake in the woods.

The puzzle of this is thought of in basic biology and Egg science, and it’s obvious. The house of the water of an Egg is contained within the shackles of two halves of a stone bone prison in regard to an Egg, and it’s the wet desert inside of it that floods it until it becomes dry or, to put it another way, it makes the Egg happen until we understand why it came from it (them) to do it to us, as an Egg in both ways and one of the famous styles. Thanks for asking!

I went to the edge of camp and I called to whoever it was and told them that camp was this way. But they kept going back out into the woods, so I went after them. I know it was stupid but I was half-asleep and I just really didn't want to deal with some idiot getting hurt. I followed this thing on a dead-straight course for about a mile, and then it stopped on the edge of a little river. I could see the outline of it because the water was reflecting the moon, and it looked just like an ordinary guy. He had a pack on, and it looked like he was facing me. I asked if he was okay, if he needed help, and he cocked his head like he didn't understand me. I always have my pocket knife on me, and it's got a little thumblight attached to it, so I turned that on and lit up his chest, so I wouldn't blind him. He was breathing slow and deep, so I wondered if he was sleepwalking. I went closer and asked him again if he was okay. I moved the light up, and something didn't seem right, so I stopped. He kept breathing in this real slow, deep breaths, and I sort of figured out gradually that that's what was bothering me. It was like he was pretending to breathe, but not actually doing it. His breaths were too even and deep, and all his movements were exaggerated, like his shoulders going up and his chest moving. I told him to identify himself, and he made this muffled noise. I moved the light up and I shit you not, this guy had no face. Just smooth skin. I freaked out, and I sort of fumbled my light, but I saw him move toward me but he didn't actually move. I don't know how to explain it, but one second he was at the edge of the river and the next he was five feet from me. I never looked away or blinked, it was like he moved so fast my brain couldn't keep up. I tripped and fell on my ass and I could see this line open up on his throat. It stretched up to his ears, and his head tilted back and he smiled at me with his throat. There wasn't any blood, just this gaping dark hole, and I swear he smiled at me with this gash in his throat. I got up and I ran as fast as I could back to camp.

The first shop I was in I was apprenticing so I didn't do the tattoo. I remember this girl walking in screaming, like, "Randy, I already know what you're going to say but you better give me this tattoo or I'll go somewhere else and get it!" He was like, "No, I'm not doing it. I'm not doing it." And I was like, "What are they talking about?" And she was like, "I want you to carve out this bitch's name and I want you to put my new girlfriend's name on me." And he was like, "No! I've already done this three fucking times. I'm not doing this to you again." They get in this whole argument. He finally covers up this girl's name, and it turns out it's the third name that he's covered up on her. And then, he's about to put the new girlfriend's name on her and she's like, "You want to give me a red, or pink, or something that's easy to cover up?" And he's like, "Why the fuck are you thinking about covering up this name already?"
